If there’s one connection between my past life and present, is that a lot of daily decisions boil down to sensory experiences and taste. And while taste is singularly subjective, both fashion and food have an undeniable power to shape culture, evoke emotion, and create lasting memories.
This year it cemented that I’ve swapped out fashion month for food and wine fairs, so my source of sartorial thrill comes from getting dressed for a hard-to-get dinner res (thanks Dorsia!). Whether it’s a pleat or a plate, food and fashion are forms of art and cultural expression, two trades requiring creativity, extensive craftsmanship, community engagement and collaboration.
This week I’m dedicating this newsletter to Pairings: A Culinary Outing x Clothing Crossover. Here are some WhatIWores and best bites as of late.
